Recorded in Montréal, Canada in November 2020.

Engineered, mixed and mastered by Seungwoo Han.

Inspired by the likes of Christian McBride’s New Jawn and Johnathan Blake’s Trion, this song is a quirky and unique take on the classic 12-bar blues. The melody is shaped by angular twists and turns that pave the way for inspired and creative improvising from tenor saxophonist Alex Francoeur, as well as interactive “trading” of solos from bassist Levi Dover and drummer Jacob Wutzke. The overall aesthetic is open and modern, with the ambiguity caused by the lack of a chordal comping instrument only serving to further push the creativity of the band.
